The FDE is located in the Coachella
Valley of California – an area that many people know as home to one of
the most glamorous vacation spots in the world.
Situated at the west end of the Valley,
Palm Springs has a reputation as a hide-away for movie stars,
presidents, corporate executives and dignitaries. But beyond the
high-end restaurants, glittering hotels and casino showrooms, it is
also home to pockets of poverty. And, at the east end of the valley,
are camps of impoverished farm workers and towns of families that
provide menial labor to the valley’s other commercial enterprises.
In the central valley are many of the
well-to-do communities… aaannd a large population of 60 year and older
residents on fixed incomes.
The point is that, regardless of the
‘image’ of where each of us might live, we all know that things are not
well in all quarters and, often times, a great many folks who have a
disease that seems to be everywhere are in need of financial help.
Perhaps you are very familiar with that
need in your own town. Even, perhaps, for yourself. And we would like
to be of help.
